Soft & Gentle 0% Aluminium Deodorant

Since finding out that the leading cause of breast cancer is the use of parabens and aluminium in antiperspirants, I've been on a mission to find safer natural alternatives to my old daily beauty products that won't increase my, already high, risk of contracting the dreaded 'C' word.

Parabens and aluminium in antiperspirants prevent the body from purging toxins, which when trapped, find their way into the lymph nodes where they concentrate and contribute to the cellular changes that lead to cancer. More recently there has also been a link between antiperspirant and Alzheimer's disease. We just don’t know what long term effects the build up of these chemicals are having on our bodies, but what we do know is pretty alarming, so you can understand my reasons for wanting to stay clear of them.
When I found Soft & Gentle's 0% Aluminium Antiperspirant Deodorant on the shelves of ASDA's beauty isles whilst doing my weekly shop, it was somewhat of a eureka moment for me. I have struggled for over a year and a half to find my 'perfect' natural deodorant - an affordable, paraben and aluminium free antiperspirant spray deodorant that actually works. In my tireless search, I've come to find that unfortunately many natural deodorants by their very nature tend to be expensive and simply mask and neutralise the sweat odours but don't actually stop you sweating, with only an antiperspirant being able to do that job.

Up until a few weeks ago, when Soft & Gentle unveiled their breakthrough innovation with the launch of the UK’s first aluminium free antiperspirant deodorant, myself, like many others will no longer have to compromise in this area of our beauty regimes.

A complete beauty revolution, for my underarms and my health, Soft & Gentle’s new unique aluminium free formula relies on natural plant extracts as the active ingredients to help shrink the size of your sweat glands and reduce perspiration. Plant extracts such as sage have been added to act as a deodoriser to neutralise any potential body odour and soften the skin, and horsetail has been added because of its proven effectiveness to tighten the underarm pores. They new formulations come in a choice of three delightful fragrances: green tea (Active), roses (Floral) and coconut water (Care) and are free from allergens, parabens and alcohol. They are also vegan friendly, suitable for very sensitive skin and come in a recyclable aerosol can.

After having tried the deodorants for almost 2 weeks now, I have to say I'm pretty impressed and they seem to be working at keeping me fresh smelling and dry from those embarrassing sweat patches! The scents aren't over powering either - unlike some deodorants - and last throughout the day and I also particularly love the pastel coloured packaging and fragrance names too! Excellent job Soft & Gentle!

With an introductory price of £1.50 for 150ml they are available now from ASDA (normal price will be £3.00).
